About the Artist

Sophia Alonso Mavrolas is a Character Designer, Background Painter, and Illustrator from Palmdale, California. She graduated from California State University Northridge with a BFA in Animation, as well as AA’s in both Studio Arts and Computer Animation from Antelope Valley College. Sophia primarily creates fantasy images both in digital and traditional medias, while also working on preproduction and production design for the animation industry.

 Sophia has worked on projects such as “Sirenetta’s Family Dinner” by Tiny Siren Animation as a background artist, “Galaxy Blazers “ for Animation Libation Studios, The mural “Poolside Fantasy” for the City of Palmdale, and smaller projects like her personal project “AV Florals”, and sticker collaborations. Sophia is currently freelancing with Tiny Siren Animation once again as a background painter for the upcoming independent film “Sirenetta: art Time Mermaid”.

When Sophia isn’t doing animation work, she sells her artwork via commissions, As well as on Etsy as prints and stickers.

Other than art, Sophia likes to spend time with her Family. Her Husband, daughter, and german shepherd. She is also an accomplished carnivorous plant enthusiast.
